Afterwards, someone from the shinaga-ward office, who is in charge of food services, will be reporting on some cases. Then a panel discussion will be held. As we get old, we loose physical strength and gradually loose the will to prepare meals. therefore, people are relying on convenience store food and/or salty packed lunches from the market. many aged people have no choice but to eat nutritionally inbalanced food . As a result, people are loosing life force and are becoming bedridden or sometimes need to have medical treatment. The forum, sponsored by scns to be held in october, will be a good opportunity to understand examples of food service for aged people and/or the result of research done by experts. One of the projects of scns "pocket house" is providing food service for aged families. a network of food servicing groups in sendai was organized for the purpose of studying the role of food service in an aged society.
